Grief/Loss

When a person experiences the loss of someone they love or something they cherish, either through divorce or death or by some cruel act, they are forced to deal with grief. When a loss occurs, most of us are unprepared for how to handle it, especially if we have never had to deal with it before. These sessions will help you deal with your feelings of loss and help you develop a new perspective of life.

Session Title: Characteristics of Anger

Content Summary: Anger is part of the grieving process. Anger creates a rush to action, triggered by the secretion of adrenaline by the brain. Unresolved anger places great stress on the body, physically and emotionally.

Objective: Upon completion of this presentation the participant will be able to identify what anger is and demonstrate an ability to recognize symptoms of anger before a crisis.

Session Title: Harnessing Angers Energy

Content Summary:  This presentation discusses how an individual can harness the energy generated by anger. One effective way to harness the energy of anger is to use it to address the situation that originally caused the anger. Each individual can develop skills to overcome anger and use it to their advantage.

Objective:  Upon completion of the presentation the participant will and to their understanding of anger and the effects it has on the individual. The participant will develop skills that will help them overcome and deal with the anger response.

Content Summary:  This presentation shows how positives can affect stress. Positive images and thoughts and the changing of the way that we express ideas has a great influence on stress management.

Objective:  Upon completion of this presentation the participant will understand how a positive self-image is essential in dealing with stress. Each individual must learn to manage stress before it reaches crisis proportions.

Content Summary:  This presentation discusses relationships and how they can affect the process of rebuilding your life. The importance of developing strong communication skills is emphasized. A six step process that will assist the participant in "rebuilding their life" is presented and discussed.

Objective:  Upon completion of this presentation the participant will recognize the need for building and strengthening relationships and the important role they play in rebuilding life.

Session Title: Goals-Plans-Commitment

Content Summary: This session focuses on following through on your goals. Goals are nice, but useless if they are not accompanied by planning. Planning in the absence of commitment is also a waste. This session will teach you to meld all three aspects so that you can accomplish your life desires.

Objective: Upon completion of this session the participant will be able to determine what they are willing to do, create realistic plans that will help keep the participant motivated to achieve his/her goals.
